Courses that connect ambition to outcome
Every programme at Wellingtonhub starts with a clear destination: a skill you can use, a qualification you can show, or a confidence you can feel. We don't run courses for their own sake. Before each new term we review enrolment feedback, employer conversations, and community requests to decide which programmes we keep, which we update, and which we retire. That honest review process is why our completion rates sit above 82% — learners sign up knowing exactly what they are in for, and tutors know the material has been tested against real learner needs. Classes run in cohorts of up to 14, starting every six weeks, with a mix of face-to-face sessions at our Queen Street campus and optional async support through our learner portal.

Professional Development
Eight-week evening workshops in Business Writing, Presentation Skills, and Digital Literacy. Designed for people already in work who want to move forward without taking time off. Certificate of completion issued on request.
Creative Skills
Weekend and evening short courses in Photography, Copywriting, and Graphic Design Fundamentals. Practical, project-based, and paced for adults balancing busy lives — you'll have finished work to show for it.
Literacy and Numeracy
Open-entry foundational classes in reading, writing, and everyday maths. These run in small, supportive groups and follow the New Zealand Adult Literacy Framework. No prior level required — just show up ready to work.
English for Speakers of Other Languages
Conversational and academic English classes for newcomers to Auckland. Grouped by proficiency level, with emphasis on practical communication for work, study, and daily life in New Zealand.
How a cohort term works
Each cohort runs for six or eight weeks depending on the programme. Week one focuses on orientation and baseline assessment so the tutor can pitch the class accurately from the start. Weeks two through five or seven are structured around a project or skill block — you build something tangible rather than just absorbing notes. The final week closes with a peer review session where cohort members share what they produced, ask questions, and give feedback to each other. It's the part of the programme learners mention most in their exit surveys, and it's intentional: that final conversation cements learning and leaves you with people in your contact list who are going in the same direction.

How do I know which programme is right for me?
Our admissions team offers a free 20-minute phone or in-person chat before you enrol. They'll ask about your goals, any previous study, and your weekly availability, then recommend one or two options that fit. There's no pressure to sign up on the day.
Are programmes recognised by New Zealand employers?
NCEA preparation classes support official NZQA assessments. Professional Development and Creative Skills programmes issue Wellingtonhub certificates of completion — these are not NZQA qualifications, but many Auckland employers recognise them as evidence of initiative and applied learning.
What happens if I miss a session?
Each session is summarised in the learner portal within 24 hours, so you can catch up on key content. Your tutor will also flag any critical exercises you need to complete before the next class. We can't guarantee one-to-one catch-up sessions for missed classes, but the portal and cohort forum usually cover the gap.
Can I switch to a different programme after starting?
Yes, within the first two weeks of a cohort. After that, switching disrupts both your own progress and the cohort dynamic, so we'd ask you to complete the current term and re-enrol in the preferred programme for the next intake.
